Serbia and Hungary have inaugurated a joint consular office in Thessaloniki, Greece, enhancing their bilateral relationship and regional cooperation. Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó attended the event, emphasizing the strategic importance of this new diplomatic initiative.
The consular office is part of a broader vision shared by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to boost cultural and economic exchanges. This marks their fifth joint diplomatic effort, reflecting a partnership that extends beyond formalities into tangible economic and infrastructural projects.
A major project under this cooperation is the planned high-speed railway linking Budapest and Belgrade. This infrastructure will reduce travel time between the capitals, facilitating movement of people and goods.
