Niš is set to become a focal point for the automotive industry in southeastern Serbia as it hosts the 17th Automobile Fair from October 30 to November 1, 2026. The event, taking place at the Čair Hall, is expected to draw automotive enthusiasts, industry representatives, and visitors from across Serbia and neighboring regions. This year’s fair will showcase several Serbian premieres, including the Volkswagen ID. Polo and the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, alongside other notable models like the Kia Stonic, XCeed, and the sixth generation Renault Clio.
Oliver Paunović, the founder of the Automobile Fair in Niš, emphasized the event’s significance beyond a mere car exhibition. According to Paunović, the fair has evolved into a major economic and touristic event, becoming one of the most visited in Niš and southeastern Serbia. “The Automobile Fair has long surpassed the boundaries of a classic car exhibition and has become one of the recognizable symbols of the city,” Paunović stated. He highlighted the fair’s role in promoting Niš’s potential and contributing to the local economy, noting that it attracts visitors not only from various parts of Serbia but also from neighboring countries like Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
The fair’s continuity and growth over the years have been a point of pride for the organizers. Paunović noted that maintaining the event’s continuity and building its tradition has required significant effort, persistence, and trust from exhibitors, partners, and visitors. He expressed a commitment to ensuring that the fair continues to grow and that Niš retains its significant place on the fair map of Serbia and the region.
This year’s event will also feature the Serbian premiere of the SWM G01 Pro SUV model and SWM motorcycles, catering to a wide range of automotive interests. The organizers have made efforts to make the fair accessible to a broad audience, with regular ticket prices set at 400 dinars and discounted rates of 300 dinars for students and organized groups. Special emphasis is placed on attracting young people, students, and pupils, providing them with an opportunity to engage with the automotive industry and technological innovations.
The fair’s impact on the local economy is significant, as it brings in visitors who contribute to the hospitality sector, including hotels and restaurants. This influx provides a boost to local businesses, showcasing Niš’s capacity to host large-scale events and highlighting its cultural and economic potential.
The 17th Automobile Fair in Niš underscores the city’s growing importance in the automotive sector and its ability to host significant events that attract regional attention. As the fair continues to evolve, it is expected to play an increasingly vital role in promoting the automotive industry and supporting the local economy.
