Ekspo 2027 Opens Tender for Secure Ticket Printing in Belgrade

Aug 9, 2026

Ekspo 2027 has initiated a tender process for the production and printing of up to two million non-personalized tickets for its upcoming specialized exhibition in Belgrade. This announcement marks a significant step in the preparations for the event, which is set to take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027. The tender specifies the production of one million one-day tickets, 200,000 three-day tickets, and 800,000 blank forms, all featuring advanced security measures.

The tickets will be crafted from protected paper with a watermark, weighing 120 grams per square meter. They will include holographic foil with security elements, QR codes, perforations, and numbering. Additionally, a security element printed with special ink that fluoresces under UV light will be included on the back of each ticket. The dimensions of the tickets are set at 210×74 millimeters, with each sheet containing four tickets measuring 210×296 millimeters.

The selected contractor will be required to implement stringent security procedures throughout the production, storage, and handover processes. These procedures must comply with the Intergraf Security Printers Certification standard at the Central Bank Level, ensuring the integrity and security of the ticketing process.

The timeline for ticket production is precise, with the first batch of 160,000 one-day and 40,000 three-day tickets due by September 14, 2026. This schedule allows for the commencement of ticket sales on September 15, 2026. A subsequent batch is expected by September 30, 2026, with the final deadline for all tickets set for December 31, 2026. The ordering party will conduct a thorough inspection of the quantity and quality of each batch before acceptance, and the printing company must provide a digital proof for approval prior to the start of production.

The deadline for submitting bids for this tender is August 13, 2026. This initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure the success of Ekspo 2027, which is anticipated to be the largest international event Serbia has ever hosted. The exhibition will feature collective pavilions designed to accommodate a large number of international participants, fostering global cultural and economic exchanges.

The Ekspo 2027 event is expected to draw significant international attention, with more than 140 countries anticipated to participate. The theme of the exhibition, “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” aims to promote cultural exchange and collaboration across diverse fields. The construction of collective pavilions, awarded to Sigong Tech Co., Ltd from South Korea and its subcontractor BAUMEISTER d.o.o. from Belgrade, is already underway, valued at 5.28 billion dinars without VAT.

As preparations continue, the ticket printing tender underscores the scale and importance of Ekspo 2027, not only as a cultural and economic event but also as a showcase of Serbia’s organizational capabilities on the international stage. The meticulous attention to security and logistics reflects the organizers’ commitment to delivering a seamless and secure experience for all attendees.
