The preparations for EXPO 2027 in Belgrade have taken a significant step forward with the awarding of a parking management contract to ‘Parking servis’. The contract, valued at 226,931,995 dinars excluding VAT, was signed by the company ‘EXPO 2027′ d.o.o. Beograd. It encompasses the operational management of parking facilities at the exhibition site in Surčin, which will feature a total of 10,173 parking spaces. These spaces are allocated for passenger vehicles, electric cars, buses, and vans, ensuring comprehensive coverage for the diverse needs of visitors.
The director of EXPO 2027, Danilo Jerinić, highlighted the critical role of efficient parking management in accommodating the expected large influx of visitors during the exhibition’s three-month duration. “We expect millions of visitors from Serbia and around the world, so it is crucial that every aspect of their arrival at the EXPO location is well-organized,” Jerinić stated. He emphasized the goal of providing a safe and efficient vehicle reception system to facilitate easy access to the exhibition, ensuring a positive experience from the moment visitors arrive.
The parking system will include 13 parking lots for passenger vehicles, one dedicated bus parking area, and a technical base. Of the total parking spaces, 9,133 are designated for passenger vehicles, 363 for electric vehicles, 590 for people with disabilities, 54 for buses, and 33 for vans. This comprehensive arrangement is designed to cater to the diverse transportation needs of visitors, reflecting the event’s broad appeal and the organizers’ commitment to accessibility and convenience.
EXPO 2027 is scheduled to take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All”. This theme underscores the event’s focus on inclusivity and cultural exchange, aiming to attract a wide array of participants and attendees from various backgrounds.
