The upcoming EXPO 2027 in Belgrade is poised to significantly boost Serbia’s tourism sector by showcasing the country’s diverse attractions through the ‘Srpska kuća’ pavilion. This initiative aims to attract over four million visitors between May 15 and August 15, 2027, as part of a broader effort to enhance Serbia’s international visibility and appeal as a tourist destination.
Danilo Jerinić, director of the organizing company EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Beograd, emphasized the pivotal role of the ‘Srpska kuća’ pavilion in introducing visitors to Serbia’s rich tourism potential. “We are excited that guests coming to Serbia next year will have the opportunity to experience our natural beauties and the best our country has to offer,” Jerinić stated. He highlighted that the EXPO is not just a temporary event but a strategic platform to promote Serbia as a destination for development, new investments, and hospitality.
The pavilion will focus on the authenticity of local cultures, traditions, and gastronomy, aiming to create a lasting impression on visitors. Snežana Paunović, Serbia’s Minister of State Administration and Local Government, noted that the pavilion would encapsulate the essence of Serbia, showcasing its cultural and traditional values. “We want everyone who visits to see a miniature Serbia with all its values – culture, tradition, and gastronomy,” Paunović said, expressing hope that the EXPO would motivate international guests to explore Serbia beyond the event.
EXPO 2027 is expected to have a long-term impact on Serbia’s tourism and local development. Jerinić expressed his vision for the EXPO’s legacy, stating, “We are building the EXPO not just for 93 days, but for the future. We want guests who discover Serbia during the EXPO to wish to return and inspire others to visit our country.” This approach aims to leverage the EXPO’s international visibility to foster tourism and local growth even after the event concludes.
In preparation for EXPO 2027, Serbia has been actively promoting the event through various initiatives, such as the EXPO caravan, which has visited towns across the country. These promotional activities highlight the importance of tourism for Serbia’s economic development and aim to engage local communities in the EXPO’s success.
The EXPO will be held under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” promising a vibrant cultural exchange and a showcase of Serbia’s unique offerings. As the country prepares to host millions of visitors, the focus remains on creating a positive image of Serbia as a welcoming and dynamic tourist destination.
